I know it’s not technically New Years anymore but it’s never too late to make healthier choices. Â It’s something I’m always striving to do but continually falling short.
I’ve recently been trying to make breakfast every morning. Â And when I say breakfast I mean actual breakfast; unlike the leftover brownie or last cookie from yesterdays recipe development. Â It has happened before…guilty as charged. Â While both of those things contain eggs which make them totally suitable for breakfast in my book by mid afternoon my energy is lacking and I’m pretty grouchy.
A grouchy mommy is no fun and since time out isn’t really an option nor is a nap I had to make some changes.  Starting my morning off with fruits and vegetables  has curbed that inner grouch and helps me check off a few of my daily requirements.  It doesn’t mean I still don’t like dessert for breakfast which is why creating a shake with the same flavors of a Cranberry Apple Crisp was right up my alley.
I froze the new Diet Cranberry Juice from Ocean Spray into ice cubes and added them with a few other ingredients to make this low cal version of crisp on the go. Â It’s dessert for breakfast that I don’t have to feel guilty about!
Ingredients
- 1 - 6 oz container of Apple Cinnamon Green Yogurt
- 1 medium apple
- 5 ice cubes of OceanSpray Diet Cranberry Juice
- 2 tablespoon oats
- 1/4 - 1/2 cup skim milk
Instructions
- Place all of the ingredients in a blender and blend on hug until smooth. Serve immediately.

This looks SO good! Going to add that cranberry juice & Greek yogurt to my shopping list!
Now this is a shake I can totally go for!
I don’t normally drink a lot of shakes, but this is one I would definitely try!
