The word “budget” is not only in the name of this blog but something I live by. Feeding 4 boys and one husband can be expensive so when I am making my grocery list the first thing I check is what is on sale that week.
Having been around couponers for a while I can tell you that there is a stigma that surrounds certain stores as being not as “budget-friendly.” One of these happens to be Harmon’s Grocery Store. Despite their reputation of being a bit more costly I decided to take a tour of one of Harmon’s newest stores in Farmington. What I saw will forever change my opinion of Harmon’s! Not only do they welcome couponers but they also support local farmers, businesses and they send their organic waste to be composted which is a huge plus in my book.
I had the opportunity to meet with Bob and Randy Harmon and what struck me the most about them is the passion they have for food. They stock their stores with the best ingredients, produce, and selection possible. They offer customer service that goes above and beyond what you can find elsewhere including drive and load. Did I mention I have four kids? Seriously, whoever came up with this idea needs a bonus.
Not only do they have superior customer service but they offer products that are exclusively sold at their stores including cheeses, meats, and gourmet ingredients. They make their own sausage and brats by hand everyday so they are fresh when they hit the shelves. We had some of Bob’s Brats the other night and they were great. Plus, the cost was very competitive with other brands!
In my experiences of cooking on a budget I have discovered that high quality ingredients can go a long way. Cheese happens to be one of those ingredients. I have a serious love affair with cheese and when I saw Harmon’s extensive line of cheeses I shed a happy tear or two. They have a cheese monger at the counter to help you choose the right cheese and offer samples of the cheeses you are looking at.
And what goes better with cheese than bread! France, eat your heart out! Their gourmet selection of breads is to die for. I tried a white chocolate bread that was out of this world. Imagine making french toast with that or bread pudding! Oh goodness.
If after hearing about their service and products you are still not a believer than go to Harmon’s for a quick lunch or dinner on the go! Consider the cost of going to a drive thru and compare that to freshly prepared sandwiches, soups, salads, and desserts.
Sandwich artisan, fresh fruit salad, and pineapple salsa.
Are these not the most gorgeous desserts ever!?
{Yes, this was taken at Harmon’s, not Paris.}
The new Farmington store also offers gelato and gourmet coffees! After you spend a day at Lagoon pop on over and freshen up with a nice bowl, or two…
I may or may not have tried all of those at 10:30 in the morning. Don’t judge.
There is so much more I could write about the new Farmington Store, including the fact that I wish I had a magic transporter to send me there anytime I wanted. I urge you to check our their website for more information about what the store offers including cooking classes and an on site dietitian!
Thanks to Bob and Randy, Harmon’s Grocery Store has offered to give one lucky reader a $25 gift certificate!

I was not compensated or paid to review Harmon’s Grocery Store. My opinions of the store are my own and you will not be able to change my mind of it’s awesomeness…ever. Especially the cheese.

WOW! What an awesome prize! I hope I win! I love your posts! You can tell that you put so much work into them!
Thank you Camille! Good luck!
You have FOUR boys? You deserve a medal. I just have one little girl, but hubby desperately wants a boy. He says we’ll stop at four if we don’t have a boy by then. Emphasis on “he.” I haven’t quite decided–depends on how pregnancy #2 goes, the first one was rough! Looks like an awesome store, but don’t enter me in the giveaway, I live in Michigan
Hahahaha! Thanks Rachel! It definitely takes a toll on our bodies. Whew! I hope the second one is easier.
I never shop there, but stopped by last week and drooled at all the beautiful food. It is seriously inspiring, making me want to serve food that looks like that. I loaded up on a salad and the rest of the fam got fried chicken! It could be my new favorite eat out place.
Isn’t it fantastic! Making beautiful is so easy when you have beautiful ingredients.
I love Harmon’s and used to live 30 seconds from the one in Orem. Too bad I moved to AF. But I can make the trip anytime!
It’s totally worth the trip! I seriously need to have “live close to Harmon’s” on my next house search requirments!
I shop at my local Harmons, that new one is definately cool. I too have three boys and can use all the help I can get!
I love their cheese section!!

Thank you!
I absolutely love Harmon’s. There are some products that I have just decided will always fit into our budget from there. The breads and cheeses are just a couple. They have some unique products that you can’t find at other stores, and the attention to detail and quality is outstanding. I was invited to this and missed being able to go. I’m glad you got the chance to go!!
Sorry you missed it! I totally agree about the bread and cheese. You just make room in the budget for it! It is that good…

I don’t shop at Harmon’s much but I would if I had a gift card. I would buy some of that white chocolate bread and make something yummy for my seven kiddos and fantabulous hubby.
That white chocolate bread is well worth the visit Heather! I bet your family would love it!
Wow, it looks so yummy I want to go there now. I’ve only been to the St. George Harmon’s on vacation, but I was majorly impressed with their deli, etc. I would love to win & visit the Orem store.

Krista, you are way too popular… I want to win this. Harmon’s salad bar is calling my name again!! I could totally spend $25 at the salad bar alone. MMM.
Everyone keeps talking up that bread, I am going to have to make a trip up there to try it!! My Harmons doesn’t have that.
I just read the Lemon Ricotta Pancake email… My two little ones are up at the crack of dawn too not matter what! The older ones are totally opposite LOL. This recipe looks delish!! That’s one of my favorite things to do is take a recipe and tweak it so it’s even better :0)
