Made with Love Week – Red Velvet Cake Batter Bark

With Valentine’s Day approaching I teamed up with my very fun and talented friend (and neighbor, I know, every girl should be this lucky) to bring to you Made with Love Week!  I will be showcasing recipes while Kacey from Stay at Home Artist will share the CUTEST printables to go along with them!  We hope you enjoy!

Today we are featuring a recipe and gift tag that is perfect for friends and neighbors!  I found this version of bark a couple of weeks ago and I knew I had to make it!  It is such a versatile recipe that can be changed to your liking and for any occasion.  Considering the season I thought it only appropriate that I make a red velvet cake batter bark.  Do you see how the red in the batter mix tinted the white chocolate pink!?  Love it!!!

It is a perfect and inexpensive treat to give to neighbors, friends, or teachers. It’s also very simple to make…I made these while feeding my kids lunch and trying to eat lunch myself. I admit, I sometimes take multitasking to the extreme!
Red Velvet Cake Batter Bark
  • 5 oz white, semi-sweet, or dark chocolate
  • 8 oz white chocolate
  • 2 tsp red velvet cake mix
  • Parchment paper or lightly Pam sprayed foil
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or, if you are like me and ran out, use a half spray of Pam cooking spray on a piece of foil.  Melt 5 oz of the chocolate of your choice (I made two versions.  One using white chocolate as the base and the other with semi-sweet.) in a double boiler.  Once it is melted pour onto the parchment paper foil, spread, and place in the freezer for 20 minutes.  Now go read a book for 15 minutes.  When the 15 minutes runs out start melting 8 oz of white chocolate in a double boiler.  Once it’s melted mix in the 2 tsp of red velvet cake mix.  Grab the hardened chocolate out of the freezer and pour the red velvet chocolate on top working quickly to spread it.  Sprinkle with pink sprinkles and return it to the freezer for another 20 minutes.  Once it is hardened break it into pieces and sample!

Head on over to Stay at Home Artist to print this adorable tag and give it as a gift to your friends and neighbors.

I just couldn’t resist getting a few photos of this little elf sneaking a piece during the photo shoot.
Hmmm, I think he enjoyed it, don’t you!?
