There is a reason this is called simple syrup.
It. Is. So. Simple. I absolutely love this concoction and while I was visiting my family in California I used this to make a couple recipes using lemons, hence the lemon in the pic.
My parents have this amazing backyard and nestled in a garden area are lemon trees. You can go out anytime and pick a sweet, juicy lemon for whatever you are creating. I had withdrawals for about a week after we got back. Oh no, you mean I have to buy my own lemons now!?
I paired this mint infused simple syrup with a drink I’ll share this week. The real beauty of this is the limitless number of flavors and creations you can make. It is definitely my new favorite budget gourmet way to entertain!
Mint Infused Simple Syrup
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup mint leaves

Love simple syrups. This mint sounds wonderful!
That sounds so simple. I’ve
always wanted to make simple syrup.
It is so easy Amanda and it stores really well in the fridge!
A lemon tree in the backyard would be awesome…love how easy it is to make this syrup!
My parents live in CA. too and have fruit trees, lemon, tangerine, orange and my most favorite avocado trees. I know what you mean by having withdrawals, I visit every summer for about 3 weeks and its tough to leave. Simple syrup is great isn’t it. I look forward to the drink you’ll create.
Thanks Suzanne! Isn’t it hard to leave when you have such wonderful produce right at your fingertips!? Sigh.
I love the idea of this simple syrup with lemon. I’m going to have to try that! This is a great syrup for making batches of Mint Juleps!
